This is neither a dance course nor a drawing course. Meaning that you will not learn a sequence of steps or choreography and I will not teach you how to draw in a particular way.
This is a creative movement and art class in which I will guide you through improvisation tasks to move your body in different ways. We will use our imagination to play with our movement, imagining our body is a brush painting the space, as a tool to expand our creativity and discover our own expression through the body movement. We will also draw to express the feelings and sensations evoked by the movement, and then we will use the drawing as inspiration to create a new dance. We will also exchange drawings and observe each other’s movements to inspire each other and increase our creativity together.
In short, we will “draw the movement and move the drawing” in a creative loop, while exchanging inspiration from the others, the music and the surroundings.
You don’t need to have previous dance or drawing experience. You don't need a “fit” body or special skills either. Everyone is welcome to join.
