In this 2-day workshop, participants will explore the captivating world of cyanotype—an early photographic printing process that harnesses the power of light and shadow. Using sunlight and chemically treated paper, you will discover the unique chemical reactions that create the technique’s signature deep-blue prints. The workshop also introduces methods for printing photographs in blue tones.
-Introduction to cyanotype and its historical background
-Preparing materials and setting up the workspace
-Arranging objects (leaves, flowers, etc.) on sensitized paper
-Exposing the paper to sunlight to create prints
-Experimenting with different objects, compositions, and textures
