The Acrylic Abstract Portrait Course is a creative program for enthusiasts of all levels, designed to explore the fusion of abstract art and portraiture. Participants are encouraged to move beyond traditional techniques and embrace bold, expressive approaches using acrylic paints.

Objectives:

Understand and apply the concepts of value and colour using a reference photo.
Develop skills in creating texture and depth through the study of light and shadow.
Briefly explore colour theory and its emotional impact on portraiture.
Learn basic human face proportions in a simplified, beginner-friendly way.
Experiment with techniques to deconstruct and reconstruct facial features.
Create abstract portraits that reflect personal style and creativity.
Gain an overview of colour and depth to complete a piece within one or two sessions, suitable for beginners.

Prérequis

Beginner, Intermediate

Matériel requis

Acrylic Paints: A variety of colors, including primary and secondary colors (provided by CEPA)
Brushes: Assorted sizes and shapes for different techniques
Canvas: Stretched canvas, 50 cm x 40 cm or 40 cm x 40 cm
Texture Tools: Palette knives, sponges, and other tools for creating texture
Painting Palette: For mixing colors
